With just over a week to go, we'd like to share a piece with you that's very special to us. Schönberg's Verklärte Nacht was the first piece we played together. It was originally written for string sextet and arranged for piano trio (by Steuermann) and goes to show that even the origins of Linos were rooted in looking beyond the traditional confines of the piano trio, and being inspired by the endless possibilities this combination of instruments has to offer. We of course had to include it in our #stolenmusic album, coming out this summer and it's the big finisher of the Linos Festival 2021! Our violinist Konrad talks about the opening concert of the Linos Festival "Stolen Music": Songs. We are taking the idea of "Stolen Music" back to its roots! Songs are the oldest form of making music and have traditionally been kept alive by being passed on and reinterpreted. Just as we reimagine orchestral works by arranging them for piano trio, songs have been retold and evolved whenever they have changed hands (or voices) over the course of time.
